a 3-min Present Moment for You

OilisWell FB Posts (10)

Someone who you know may have been having an ‘unseen’ challenging time within.

Recent times have been trying on each and every one of us.
Especially our emotional and mental well-being.

You’re probably feeling concerned as well.
But likely bogged down with countless other concerns of your own…

You wish to reach out, yet feel like you’re hanging by a thread at times?

I feel you…

For your own well-being so that you may be able to reach out to someone who you’ve been thinking about.

Have a short 3 minute Present Moment for You:

1) Recognise how are you feeling right now?

2) Allow yourself to feel all of this which you have been…

3) Identify where most do you feel the heaviness / nudging / tension / etc within your body?

Take a pause.

4) Nourish you with a drop of Gratitude essential oil.

Deeply inhale, place hands on heart, and repeat this affirmation:

I am so happy and grateful now that I’m alive and choosing to honour this moment I’m experiencing.

I am easily choosing to release all that no longer serves me well.

I am feeling calm and peaceful.

I’m so thankful I’m easily choosing to become the best version of myself in this moment.

May you be re-aligned and go forth with your inner peace. 🙏

Blooming as lotus flowers do in murky water. ❤️

Releasing & Letting Poo Go

An important part of your wellness is excreting what your body no longer needs.

When whatever that’s no longer needed is released, your body gets more space within.

And we all know that healing has been known to occur best with when space is available.

Maybe someone you know or yourself have been experiencing lesser physical activity from staying at home? (I know I have been.) And, it’s likely that staying at home would have reduced your physical energy expenditure and movements.

Your physical movements can help a lot with stimulating your internal movement called peristalsis, which supports your digestive heath. Peristalsis helps with pushing digesting and digested food through your digestive tract. Moving this food through you helps with increasing space within your body…

How so?

Well, at the end of it all, peristalsis most importantly helps you to push your waste (a.k.a. poo) out.

Sometimes poo can feel ‘stuck’.

And, if you or someone you know have ever felt this discomfort before, here’s a series steps that can be attempted to help your poo out (pun intended):

1) Apply a drop of Di-Gize essential oil onto tummy area. Dilute with carrier oil for sensitive skin.

2) Rub in circular motion in direction of how bowels move through your large intestine. Refer to picture below on this post.

3) Massage a drop a Fennel or Peppermint essential oil onto the side of your index finger. Refer to picture below on this post.

Repeat 2-3 times a day until you’re feeling better

Gone Bonkers?

Hope that the rest of you all out there and here in the digital world are coping well..

I think I … almost lost it from being with myself for days on end.

The real GOOD that came out of it was I found some ways that helped me feel better and kept my sanity.

And in doing so, I managed to keep my head upon my shoulders and got MANY things done!! *Yay! Especially those household chores that I would have normally put off till another year 😡 Haha.

May this benefit you and someone you care about ♥♥♥ :

My experience: Driving long distance

I can say that I have never driven continuously for longer than an hour while I’ve lived most of my life in Singapore.  My country is not very large in terms of land area as compared to other countries.  (I’ll be very happy to leave facts out of this.. I trust you to google :p )

To add, I seldom sit behind the wheel while I move across Singapore; I usually take the public transport which provides bus and train services.  They are really convenient and makes almost every part of the island accessible (if there’s no breakdown or major traffic jams.)  Hmm. This also means that my confidence about driving is pretty low.

So, back to the topic… I’ll like to share a small list of what we did to prepare, a little about our experience(s) while driving in the big apple.. and in the later part of this post, I intend to share about my top 3 things that I recommend to have on a long driving trip.

…………………………………………………………………

My partner and I prepared for our driving experience in the big apple. We loaded up with inflatable pillows, cushions (just-in-case I cannot see over the steering wheel), and vitamin B supplements for energy boosts.  Being a relatively small-sized and short Asian, I think this was crucial preparation.  A mixture of things that we encountered & did as listed:

  • We went economical; due to our budget
  • Chose Hertz (although bit pricier, they have relatively newer cars) – What a shame! They didn’t give us any free upgrades!
  • Got full coverage on insurance – because this gave me better peace of mind
  • We prepared online and offline maps of wherever we went
  • Driving is very different in USA as compared to in Singapore (different hand drive) – I prepared myself by familiarising routes on Google Earth, used visualisation, and sat in the left side of the vehicle more often while in Singapore
  • Had more food and water with us wherever we went/drove
  • Understood that it was ideal to get a continental car – they are usually heavier and feel ‘sturdier’

This list can go on…

Well, nothing ever really prepared me for the actual real-life driving. It was NERVE-WRECKING.

We ended up having no continental car to choose from; so I settled for a Nissan Versa. It was good enough for the entire 700+ miles that we drove. (With max speed of 95 mph and longest drive of 3+ hours. Of course I always kept to the speed limit +/- 5 mph as what a local shared with us to not exceed the limits especially while on the Interstate.)  My partner helped me to navigate, control the air-conditioning/heating and radio whenever she could. Also, applied valor essential oil as well as 3 wise men on me to help calm me down, and fed me vitamin B while I was at the wheel.

………………………………………………………………………….

On hindsight, it was such an adventure!  We drove from Phoenix to Tuscon, navigated our way to our destination (realising how different the distance a mile feels in reality as compared to what my metric brain visualises), survived driving in the night/dark with reflectors all the way to Sedona from Tuscon… Also made it out unscathed from driving onto oncoming traffic (what a road hazard I must have been! Was thankful for having empty roads when I had a wrong turn); and during the days we admired very beautiful scenery along the 89A in Sedona.

Well, I think driving long distance takes a lot of mental focus and peppermint essential oil helped me to keep alert and maintain my concentration.  Water was also close on hand whenever I felt a little sleepy or my throat getting parched.

My favourite device was the Cruise Control on the car’s steering wheel. It freed my leg while it allowed my thumb to control the speed of the car like a game console. By keeping a healthy distance from the car before me, I also found that I had sufficient time to respond by cancelling the cruise control or tapping on the brake whenever the cars before me slowed.

GPS also made a big difference on the trip. Having an offline map on a phone with huge battery capacity was a large quality-of-life booster. For us, (offline) google maps was reliable enough in giving usable routes and rerouted whenever necessary. The online version however experienced a little hiccups and had some trouble getting a signal at times. I feel that the best way to utilise an offline map is to do your homework and key in (or star) all locations and destinations prior to your trip (if you’re like me and like to over-prepare, you’ll thank yourself for doing so).

………………………………………………………………………….

Yeps. That’s all for now… 🙂

Let’s make Melrose

I was going through my collection of essential oils… and I wanted to make something from oils that I already have to create something that I don’t yet have… (do you get it?) Hmmm.. to simplify, I just wanted more oils. Hehh… Part of the joys (and pains) of being human and being able to Want, Create, and Own. Heehee

Recently, I developed a rash that comes on intermittently over the back of my right hand along my thumb.. which I suspect to be eczema. I think anger and impatience is expressing itself through that rash of mine (no recollection of contact dermatitis, so maybe it’s mental/emotional/spiritual). And, having read that Melrose can help with eczema and anger/impatience, I carried on to read more.

Found that Melrose is made up of four essential oils. Whee! Because I happen to have them in my collection. 🙂 It’s Tea tree, Niaouli, Rosemary, and Clove essential oils.

Supposedly, it also helps with:

  • Psoriasis — treat the area with a few drops of diluted melrose to affected area, or can also add to bath water to treat entire body
  • Acne — apply diluted to affected area
  • Warts — can dilute in apple cider vinegar before targeting affected area
  • Rosacea — may be able to help relief symptoms by applying a few drops of Melrose diluted in water or carrier oil to affected areas twice a day

Please do note that I am not a doctor or medical advisor. I only can share what I read/know/experience and hope that this helps you and perhaps your loved ones in your life. In any case, it will be most advisable to seek professional medical attention.

So back to what is found inside Melrose…

I like how Tea Tree essential oil, or Melaleuca alternifolia the scientific name, has such amazing healing properties for the body. I have it in my facial toner (I can share what’s in it some day too!) and I think it has been helping me with reducing acne and pimples on my face (they however pop up elsewhere on my body). It also helps to refresh as well as ease mental and emotional stress too.

There’s also Niaouli essential oil which I love for it’s ability to reduce appearance of scars and reduce pain (and hopefully itch too because they share the same nervous pathway).

The first time I sniffed Rosemary essential oil I thought I was going to turn sick. It’s scent is not very pleasant to me but I am okay with the leaves of the actual rosemary plant. It’s great for soothing digestion and rich in those ‘anti’s… such as anti oxidant, anti-cancer (because of carnosol), and anti-inflammatory. And, my aunt whose head hairs are constantly dyed from white will soon be trying rosemary essential oil out to support healthy hair and scalp, as well as for hair growth! Reminds me of how it can be a really sensitive matter to reveal a lady’s age…

And last but not least, Clove essential oil. Rich in antioxidant. Anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. Also boosts energy, improves our blood circulation, and helps us to release what we no longer need.

There’s definitely more to each of the oils than the little short summaries I written above. I feel as though I don’t do the oils enough justice sometimes… But I know that there’s a tonne (maybe more) of information available out there and I don’t want to be like an encyclopedia; I just wish to add on and share what I experience! :)))

How to make Melrose

WhatsApp Image 2018-04-15 at 17.41.45

I made a small portion of 2 ml (the tiny amber/brown coloured bottle above) for and my ratio for my very own Melrose essential oil blend is right below.

How to make your own Melrose Essential Oil Blend:

  • 6 drops Melaleuca alternifolia
  • 5 drops Niaouli
  • 4 drops Rosemary
  • 2 drops Clove

I like how this blend smells.

Simply multiply the number of drops and adjust the scent according to your preference 🙂

Recommended to use 50:50 dilution. And can apply 2-4 drops to your ears, feet and brow to help with calming and to release impatience.

I’ll be using is on my hand where eczema has been spotted to arise whenever I need / remember…

Wishing everyone many Blessings & Healing! ❤
