What are Essential Oils?

Imagine harvesting plants for all their wholesome goodness -a gift from Mother Nature- and then extracting all the nutrients, drop by drop, into a bottle.

That is what we call Essential Oils, fondly termed “lifeblood of plants” and “essence of nature”.

Essential Oils come with a host of benefits to our health and wellness 🙂

Come… Learn more about them and join me on my journey of discovery!

Oilready Well?

happy family

It’s November and I can feel the Christmas Spirit creeping up into the air 🙂 ’tis a good season to be jolly, falalala…. Until… My mom fell sick (and it seemed like many people fell sick too! Ah-chooo!) Maybe ’tis the Singapore weather, it has been hot and rainy. Not a good recipe for health!

My mom, being a homemaker, her poor health meant that she could not go about her usual daily activities and chores. She slept a lot. She could not cook meals as per usual.

So, putting my oils to the test and to good use… I diffused Thieves for the first two nights she fell ill. She told me she also felt feverish. I applied Peppermint on her shoulder and chest and gave her a little massage. She soon fell asleep soundly. For additional good luck, i dabbed a tiny bit of Lavender on her forehead and wished her well.

She woke up a few hours later and told me “I feel better. No more fever!” Yayy. Best news of the night/wee morning I’ve heard. More oils to come her way!

Her recovery was speedier than usual. I diffused R.C and Peppermint on the 3rd and 4th days to help her with her thick phlegm and troubling cough.

On the 5th day, she walked in to my room smelling of Peppermint (albeit too strongly). She told me she has been applying it neat to her chest. Haha! She knows what’s good for her.

So… It’s been the 6th day now. She’s back to her usual routine and happily watching TV as I type this. No more sleep-inducing meds and more enjoyment of her hobbies!
